Many years ago Kristin Borchard identified a need for leadership training and education in the rural EMS system she served. Reflecting on the agencies surrounding hers she realized this need was systemic and set her sights on providing an avenue to correct it. In 2006 Kristin’s vision came to fruition in the form of the Northwest RETAC Leadership Conference, providing leadership education for the EMS, fire, nursing and administrative leaders of rural agencies. Each year since the Northwest RETAC has hosted the annual conference in April with the intention of fulfilling a vital need for leadership education to the communities in our region and beyond.
